DIY Bleach Reverse Tie-Dye Sheets
Did you know you can tie-dye clothes without a dye bottle? We've tried tie-dying with tissue paper, tie-dying with Kool-Aid, and now reverse tie-dying with bleach. Today, however, we're not using clothing, but rather sheets for your bed. You can also try this with a variety of other home decorative items.

DIY Bleach Reverse Tie-Dye Sheets
My son is extremely sensitive to any fabric that comes into contact with his skin, whether it's clothing or bed sheets. Because they are softer, he prefers jersey-knit sheets. He's also obsessed with the outdoors, including fishing, archery, and camouflage.
Reverse Tie-Dye Bleach Camouflage Jersey-Knit Sheets Instructions
We've recently moved into a new home, and he wants his bedroom to reflect his interests. I didn't want to go overboard with the camouflage print, so I just added those colors to his room. So we bleached tie-dye camouflage sheets for his bed.
What You'll Require
Instructions
The bucket method and the spray bottle method are the two main ways to bleach tie-dye your household items. Choose the best method for the item you want to tie-dye.
To tie-dye with bleach, combine one part bleach and one part cold water.
The bucket method
Submerge your item in a bucket after twisting, scrunching, and tying it with rubber bands. This method will dye a much larger portion of your fabric.
Spray bottle technique
Scrunch, twist, and tie your fabric, then secure with rubber bands and spray exposed sections with a spray bottle. With this method, you can do as little or as much as you want.
For this project, I went with the spray bottle method. I didn't want to use too much bleach, and this was my first time using a jersey fabric with bleach and tie-dye, so I took it slowly.
Find a suitable outdoor location for this project. The smell of bleach can be overpowering, and you don't want to risk spilling it inside.
Wearing gloves, spray the 1-to-1 bleach solution over sections of your sheets. Spray as much or as little as you want. Keep the bleach on for no more than 20 minutes. You'll notice that it immediately changes the color of the sheets to brown in the sprayed areas.
Remove the rubber bands from your sheets and rinse them in water to prevent the bleach from activating.
Wash and dry your sheets in the washing machine with laundry detergent.
